Welcome to my blog about trekking.
I was born an explorer. As a kid, I remember studying pages of my family’s road atlas, in anticipation of our family’s annual vacation. The first gift from my husband (back with we were dating) was a large wall map – he even made a frame for it!
These days, most of my map reading relates to treks I’m planning in the mountains near where I live. And even though my smart phone has maps and GPS, I still stash a full-sized atlas in the car, just for the thrill of it. Some days that atlas makes its way into the house, joined by a cup of tea and my curiosity!
I’m happiest out in the wilds or experiencing other kinds of beauty and adventure, if even for a little while. These moments leave me inspired and contented, with high hopes for the treks that lie ahead.
